Oglala Sioux Tribe
I believe as Native Nations our integrated cultural approaches to providing healthier future generations is increased when we learn and grow together!
Marie Zephier is currently a Program Manager for the Great Plains Tribal Chairmen’s Health Board. She thrives to reach quality improvement and community engagement for the three surrounding tribal communities and Indian Health Services facilities. Upon completion of her first institute course, Marie felt that it strengthened her capacity to share behavioral health knowledge with people, so others could enter recovery with her. She left with a larger understanding of the issues at hand and is a more equipped Practitioner.
Marie received her Master’s in Public Health degree from the University of Arizona in Public Health Policy and Management. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health/Business Administration from Creighton University. In the future she hopes to be enrolled in a doctorate program. She would like to be a lead principle investigator for grants and research on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. She only wanted to improve the overall health outcomes and quality of life for American Indian people.
