As a child, my grandmother and I traveled by foot and horse to provide companionship, food and housework assistance to widowed mothers of the Navajo reservation. I learned that community service fosters positive change.
Recently, I’ve developed an Indigenous Health Section of the Arizona Public Health Association, and partnered with American Indian communities in the Southwest to collaboratively develop research projects focusing on improving health outcomes for American Indians. I’m planning to earn a DrPH.
