Youth Development

Youth Development takes a strength-based approach to work upstream with youth to promote their mental, emotional, and physical health and well-being. Positive youth development recognizes the benefit of building a toolbox of life skills and connecting youth with prosocial peers and caring adults to foster healthy trajectories throughout adolescence. Programs provide skills-based trainings and offer hands-on opportunities to practice learned skills in addition to recreational activities. Programs engage youth role models, mentors, coaches, Elders and other key local and key tribal readers, as well as regional and national champions to disseminate programming including Indian Health Service, Office of Indian Education, Barclays Bank, and the National Football League Players Association.
