Having strong, nurturing caregivers is critical to promote the healthy development of children from infancy through young adulthood. Culturally-based, family-based and/or parent-focused interventions led by community members have a powerful impact on the health and well-being of Native American children and caregivers. The Center has a long history of working in partnership with Tribal communities to develop, evaluate, and disseminate family strengthening programs. The Center’s family and parenting programs acknowledge the interconnectedness among family members and are implemented by paraprofessional within their own local community.
