“There are more things … likely to frighten us than there are to crush us; we suffer more often in imagination than in reality.” – Seneca
Tom received his BSN and MPH with concentrations in Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine from Johns Hopkins, and served as an IHS Public Health Nurse in Red Mesa AZ for five years before joining the Center’s Shiprock Infectious Disease Team as a research nurse in 2018.
In his previous life he claims to have somehow supported himself as an itinerant paleontologist, exploration biogeochemist, conservation ecologist, construction worker, and worlds worst short order breakfast cook.
He now lives in Southwest Colorado with his wife Christa and two children. His current pastimes include doing endless laundry, reuniting pairs of little socks, and going to Shiprock City Market with his co-workers to see what’s in the Reduced for Quick Sale section.
