Melissa Christianson was born and raised in the four corners area. She has worked on and around the Navajo reservation since she was a young girl, on her grandfather’s cattle ranch. In 2018 she graduated from San Juan College and the University of New Mexico with Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and an associate’s degree in Nursing. She started her Nursing career working as a district nurse for Central Consolidated Schools. She joined Johns Hopkins Center for Indian Health in 2019 and has been helping coordinate research projects with the ID team. She is excited to be assisting Shiprock local community, by preventing disease and contributing to a healthier nation.
