Liana Shorty


Research Program Assistant


Liana Shorty is an enrolled member of the Navajo Tribe. She is born and raised in Chinle, Arizona. She is a wife and a mother to 4 sons. She is a Research Program Assistant with the Infectious Disease team at Johns Hopkins University Center for American Indian Health in Chinle, Arizona. She studied at Navajo Technical University, majoring in nursing. She is also an AmeriCorps Alumni. As a former AmeriCorps member, she became a certified fitness trainer for both youth and adults. She conducted her service hours toward the AmeriCorps Tribal Wellness Center to promote a healthy living to the community through fitness. She is passionate in helping her community by providing knowledge of a healthy lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family playing softball or basketball. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving her community through the center's work.
