Kristin Mitchell

Research Program Coordinator

Kristin’s biggest inspiration stems from her late paternal grandmother, Betty, who was a Mental Health Specialist. “My Nali lady Betty had the biggest heart and instilled in us to work hard to help others.”

Kristin (Diné) is of the Bitter Water clan, born for the One Who Walks Around clan. She is from and resides in Chinle, Arizona. She is a mother to two beautiful girls. Kristin received her Bachelors of Art degree in Psychology from Diné College in spring 2018. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Kristin has been with the Center for American Indian Health in Chinle since fall 2018. Her work within the behavioral health team consists of Site Coordinator for the Cancer Care Project and Case Manager for the Iiná Ayoo’oo’nii’ (Embrace Life) Suicide Prevention program, in partnership with Chinle Service Unit. In hopes of following her late paternal grandmother Betty’s footsteps, a mental health specialist, Kristin has dedicated her work to educate her community on mental health and wellness.
