Kathleen Hennessy, MPH, joined the Center for American Indian Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in September, 2021. She is based in Gallup, New Mexico and works on the administrative team to provide communications and community outreach support across sites in the Southwest. Her background is in communications for social impact organizations in the public and non-profit sector, most recently having worked for Community Outreach and Patient Empowerment which serves the Navajo Nation and Pueblo communities. Kathleen is focused on promoting understanding of the Center’s work both locally and at a national level, as well as strengthening communications systems. When not working, she enjoys exploring the many canyons and ridges of the area on foot as well as homesteading.
