Annie Moon receives Navajo Area Director’s Award for Outstanding Healthcare Provider

Congratulations to Annie Moon for providing superior service to her community and receiving the Navajo Area Director’s award for Outstanding Healthcare Provider.

Annie received her Public Health Training Certificate in American Indian Health as well as her MPH degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2015. She currently runs a program to tackle diabetes and obesity in Native youth called YéigoYéigo! Chinle Youth Lifestyle Management Initiative was formed through a partnership between the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health and Chinle Indian Health Services Public Health and Health Promotion Programming to create a school-based obesity and diabetes prevention initiative for local youth. The partnership was created to address the lack of comprehensive and sustainable obesity and diabetes prevention programs in and around Chinle, AZ. Through an iterative process, the partners extensively adapted and expanded the Together on Diabetes program, renamed “Yéigo”, and are currently piloting it in Chinle and Piñon Unified School Districts.

We are proud of Annie's accomplishements and pleased that she received her training through the Center's Certificate Program and MPH program at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
