Senior Research Program Coordinator
Working on Fort Apache Indian Reservation for the past 15 years has taught me how wonderful and amazing the Native people are. It’s rewarding to see the joy in their eyes when they grow a garden for the first time, or start their own business. My purpose is to empower, educate, and give them hope for a better tomorrow. I love working for an organization that changes people’s lives every day.
Vanya served as coordinator for Feast for the Future, Native Vision and Training of Field Staff programs from 2006 to 2013, from the Whiteriver site. She is currently managing the business incubator for Arrowhead Business Group, and is intimately involved in the development of the incubator and café, including material purchase and research. She aids participating students in development and execution of a business plans tailored to their interests, manages funds awarded to students for supply costs, keeps inventory of business operating materials, and connects students and incubator members with community resources including training.
