Biography

Anna Alikhani joined the Center for American Indian Health in June 2017. She works on curricula for Family Spirit Nurture. Anna is interested in improving the lives of the most vulnerable populations through educational, economic and health-based initiatives. In her undergraduate and graduate studies, Anna worked in both international and domestic settings. She partnered with a faith-based organization in Uganda focused on reducing shame and stigma around HIV/AIDS and spent time in Nigeria facilitating health and empowerment workshops for young women. She honed her passion for maternal and child health while interning at B’more for Healthy Babies Upton/Druid Heights. Anna received her MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Anna is also a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).
